Question on turning and slipping stitches to holder

Hi! New-ish to knitting and trying to knit the Garter Cardi from 60 Quick Knits for Little Kids. Getting stuck on this: k2, k2tog, k6, turn. Sl remaining 3 sts to holder. Knit 1 row.

Dec row: k2, k2tog, k to last 2 sts, k2tog.

Rep last 2 rows 2 times more --3 sts.

Knit 1 row.

Question 1: With rep last 2 rows 2 more times, am I to repeat the knit row and the dec row 2 more times each?

Question 2: What happens to the 3 sts I slipped onto the holder?

Question 3: When it says turn, do I just turn the piece around and knit in the opposite direction?

Thanks so much!

  1. Yes, repeat the dec row and then the knit row 2 more times. That’ll decrease 2sts each repeat (from the original 9sts to 3sts).

  2. Read farther in the pattern, maybe under finishing and there should be instructions for the held sts.

  3. In this case, just turn where it says to. Some patterns will call for a short row wrap but this one in garter stitch isn’t.

There are a couple of garter stitch cardigans in 60 Quick Knits but maybe this one?

Enjoy knitting and completing the sweater!

Thanks so much. That’s the pattern I’m following, yes!
