I am knitting a pair of socks for my sister for her birthday in January. She wears size 8 shoes (American size 8, that is) and I need to know how long a size 8 foot is in inches so I can make the sock the right size for her. Could someone measure their size 8 foot for me??
I do not have a size 8 foot. However, I do have a little conversion chart for shoe sizes. And according to the this chart a size 8 foot is 9 5/8" long.
Hope that helps.
Thanks!
That makes sense, as my foot is a size 9 and is about 10" long.
I am somewhere between a 7 1/2 and 8- My foot is just over 9 inches long!
I wear a size 8 and my foot is almost exactly 9 inches long. Start your toe decreases when the sock is 7 inches long, and it’ll be purrrrfect.
Vicki,
Is there a link to that conversion chart?
I thought :?? I’d seen it somewhere before, but now that I need it, I can’t find it
I need to know the approximate length of the foot that would go in a boys US size 4 1/2 shoe. The child is eight years old (I think).
Thanks!
Mary
A boys’ size 4 and 1/2 for an eight year old?! My feet must be smaller than I thought…I can wear a boys’ 5 in some shoes.
Cate,
He may be as old as ten (It’s for my secretary’s grandson, and I have trouble remembering all their ages (she has 6)). He’s also rather tall for his age as I remember, so he probably has large feet for his age too.
How long are your feet and I’ll subtract a little!
Thanks!
Mary
Mine are about 8 inches.
I bought mine from knit picks. It was just a couple bucks.
Anyways the chart shoes a child’s 4 as being 9"
