Question about yarn weight

Ive got a pattern for felted bowls. Under the caption “Yarn” it says… Chunky-weight (CYCA Bulky #5) yarn. Shown here: Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride Bulky (85% wook, 15% mohair; 25 yd [114m]/4 oz [114 g]:

So my dilema is, one I’m slightly confused by that. And 2, the yarn I have is lion brand 100% wool yarn that says “perfect for felting” on the label. It also says medium which I’m assuming is the weight.

So any input on how this yarn will work with my pattern? Thanks!

If it’s Lion’s regular wool, not thick or chunky, it’s worsted which would be a lot thinner than the bulky yarn. All wool yarns felt, the #5 indicates it’s a bulky yarn. You could use the Lion wool, but a smaller needle and more stitches or 2 strands and a big needle.
