I’ve been using point protectors on my straights to keep the work on it while I move it from room to room. Now that I have a project on circs, I’m not sure what to use to keep the knitting safely on there when I put it in a bag. What do you use? I’m just a little paranoid about losing my hard work!
Point protectors will still work, but I just pull the ends of the circs into a smaller circle which puts all the stitches onto the cable part of the circ.
Nothing ever goes anywhere.

i just grab both points an pull the work down on to the cord. The only time i have EVER had trouble was when i pulled the work out of the bag by the needle or when someone who was looking in my bag got interested in what those pointy things were that were poking out of the top of my bag. :doh:
when using circs, I put the 2 needles side by side and use the same point protectors I have for my straights/DPNs, or I use a rubberband.
The beauty of circs is that you don’t need point protectors. You just pull your work onto the cable part and you should be safe. You can use the protectors if they help you sleep 
, but they aren’t necessary.
They are necessary if the work fills the cord and needles as some projects do. Those nice slippery needles also make the yarn slip off easy.
I usually use the point protectors to keep my knitting on the needles. HOWEVER… they don’t stay on the Options! :wall: I’ve been using ponytail holders instead. Gotta be a better way… 
well if you were reeeeeally worried about it, you could switch out the points with those end caps but i would definitely be too lazy to do that myself! :shrug:

If i’m worried aobut losing stitches, i “tie” the ends of my circs together. you know… cross and tuck under. It works well for me…
side note: I would be careful of using a rubber band. I had a flute (in jr. high school) and i had a rubber band wrapped around the end of it for too long and it really tarnished my flute… :pout: so… if you’re going to put the work off for a long time, I would find a more permanent solution…
I use these snug point protectors on both my straights and circulars, and I’ve never had one fall off.
I have seen those knitted (hehehehe) small pony tail holders… they are small and would hold needles together w/out any problem of tarnishing them.
They make point protectors for circular needles. That’s what I use, when my knitting is long enough that it doesn’t all fit on the cord.
I use point protectors or I push my work back onto the cable.
