:thud: :thud: Please help. I cannot for the life of me find a top down sweater pattern for men that is not repelant. I have check every where I know to.
Repellant? Not sure I know what you mean by that word…
I think she means that she can’t find one she likes, lol. :teehee: :teehee: :teehee:
Ahh, one that doesn’t `repel’ her. Got it.
So what are you looking for - pullover, thin yarn, thick yarn, stripes, raglan sleeves, set in sleeves…?
Have you looked at knittingpatterncentral.com, knitty.com, magknits.com, thedailyknitter.com…
HAHAHHAHAHHA! Im A man. I cant spell either. And yes I have checked all of those sites.:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:
hmmmm, let me see here… So you don’t want a sweater that is fairisle or basketweave or aran or some kind of nondescript brown or blue. I feel your pain hun, I have teenage boys who would not be caught DEAD in any of those. Nor would they think a “Bill Cosby” type sweater (you remember those! They were kinda all crazy colored with ridges here there and some blinding shade of green and or yellow with navy blue thrown in for good measure) would be wearable.
So let’s go in this together and maybe we can come up with something suitable for todays dude, You know irreverant and colorful to a point.
I do have a couple ideas waiting in the wings. One incorporating Zimm from Invader Zimm and maybe even a couple with goofy sayings done on them with either intarsia or duplicate stitch.:figureditout:
Aran would be fine. My only qualification is that I would like to do a top-down item.
This one’s bottom up, but you could switch it to top down easily enough… http://brooklyntweed.blogspot.com/2007/07/cobblestone.html
And to make your own top down, see the sweater pattern generators at knittingfool.com and thedietediary.com/blog
These are all top down. I don’t find them repellent, but I’m not a man. Anyway, these are nice patterns, well written and worth the few bucks.
