I follow the directions and no matter how many times I’ve started over (thinking I was making mistakes b/c I haven’t knit in a few years), the beginning row of the sleeve does NOT look right.
Row 2 (RS): Make button hole, knit 7 [9, 11, 13] yo pm yo, knit 4 [6, 8, 10] yo pm yo, knit 18 [20, 22, 24] yo pm yo, knit 4 [6, 8, 10] yo pm yo, knit 7 [9, 11, 13]
Row 3 and all odd rows (WS): Knit 3 stitches, purl to last 3 stitches, knit 3 stitches.
Row 4 and all even rows (RS):
Knit to the marker, yo, pass the marker, k1 yo
knit to second marker, yo pass m, k1 yo
knit to third marker, yo, pass m, k1 yo,
knit to fourth marker, k1yo, pass m, yo, knit to end.
In her picture you can see how nice the raglan line looks with the two holes on either sides and the knit stitch running down the middle.
But I get this:
It has to be something I’m doing wrong with row 2 where you place the markers, or Row 4.
Is there an error in the pattern where I need to leave a space between the YOs in Row 2 and do a knit stitch in between?
Thanks!! I could probably do some experimenting and figure this out but I’d really like to finish it before Christmas so I’m in a time crunch.
Okay the incs don’t seem to be right, you do double YO’s but it doesn’t say what to do with them on the next row. Usually you knit 1 purl the other, unless you’re supposed to just have a big hole there which is what you have.
There was a note in a ravelry project that there’s errors, and I think row 2 is one of them. Ahh, I found a correction for it in another project.
"Row 2: Adjusted stitch count. A knit stitch needs to be worked between the two yarn-overs, i.e. “yo, pass marker, k1, yo”. Full row: “K2, yo, K2tog, knit 3 (5, 7, 9) yo, pm, k1, yo, knit 4 (6, 8, 10) yo, pm, k1, yo, knit 18 (20, 22, 24) yo pm k1 yo, knit 4 (6, 8, 10) yo, pm, k1, yo, knit 7 (9, 11, 13).”
