Hi salmonmac!!!

The woman in the video mentioned the old shale stitxh and the feather and fan stitch. And how they are different.

Can u tell me what the difference is between the 2???

This is a good comparison.


Often the pattern described by the original poster is called feather and fan. It’s clearly not but you’ll still see references to it as feather and fan.

I had never heard of the “Old Shale Stitch” before this video. I had seen it in books all over the place called Feather & Fan but now I realize that’s wrong.

I’ve come to the end length of my Shawl but, the pattern does not say when to cast off. There are only 4 rows to this pattern.
Row 4 is (P).
I just want to make sure that I cast off properly and not ruin my work. :slightly_smiling_face:
