Poncho reverse short row

ok this pattern gives instruction on short … i worked the whole thing. and it has a chart to follow cause it has quite a few cables and bobbles and weave patterns.

then it tells me to *work across all sts, knitting sort -row wraps together with wrapped st to hide. * (i get this)
next row (RS) Center neck row work across all sts (note: this should be cross row for 4st cable and bobble row for zigzag pattern) ((this has lost me))

next row (WS) work 12 sts, sl wrap next st turn.
next row (RS) work to end in pats as established. Cont to reverse short row shaping until all sts have been worked.

ok if i follow the chart in reverse this messes up the whole cable.
I tried just following the pattern in my mind. but still it isn’t lining up …

what am i missing?

i don’t get it. is there somewhere that has instruction on reverse short row?

I think what you’re doing is working one less stitch each time you work the short row on the side of the poncho. First time is 12, wrap and turn, the next time will be 11, wrap and turn, etc.

next row (RS) Center neck row work across all sts (note: this should be cross row for 4st cable and bobble row for zigzag pattern) ((this has lost me))
–This part I believe is a reference that this is where you should be in the pattern at this point.

As you do the short rows, they just want you to continue in the pattern as it’s been established, not reverse anything.

i understand all the short row shaping…

and i get the INCREASE short row shaping which is what they mean by reverse short row shaping… cause is it knitting side to side…

however the chart… stops after the short row shaping. there is no chart for reverse short row shaping. and i can’t just repeat the chart backwards… because that isn’t the established pattern…

it gets smaller then bigger to create the area covering the arm. maybe i should send the whole pattern in? would that help?

urgh this is so hard to explain.

Are you supposed to work the chart from the top down?

Maybe you can pm me the pattern. Hopefully if I see it I can help.

ok thanks!
