Im soo stuck with the pattern im a slower knitter and a looser knitter i slected small size by thinking i may nt fit in xs size and the cardigan ws made in cotton since i had prob with the gauge i selected acrylic i so forgot that cotton does not stretch soo much and acrylic streteches a lot
So after completeing the sweater i oponed it
My hands r soo hurting bcoz i tried to finish faster and i got to learn a lesson and now i dont wnt to open the full thing so thought till the increases from there
Only it went wider
Its a top down sweater with 304 stirches after increases once i open it i will be on 284 sts but have divided for the sleeves now should i open that also is there a way that i open only half way and give a nice fit but how to do it ???

the cardigan is from knit1 magazine opening it mean im unravelling the cardigan its made without join from top down
this full cardigan looks like a frock to me when worn
Have you tried on the upper part of the jacket? You may have to put the sts on waste yarn to do that but it’s worth it to see if the chest and shoulders fit the way you like. If it fits, then you can figure out how much you’d like to increase for the lower part of the jacket. You may not want to increase at all.
Another possibility is to decrease at the sides after the armholes. That’ll shape the jacket a little before the increasse row.
There seem to be all sorts of varitations on Ravelry from very gathered (many increasses) to straight (no increases). http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/07-gathered-cardi (there are corrections noted for this pattern)
i tried upper part of jacket i do need to incease
the pattern calls increase at every st just not first 12 sts and the last 12 the increase is too much for me
and gives a look like frock and too huge for me soo how much stitches should i increase ?
the increase should be in just one row ?
OK, good that the top fits well. It looks lovely.
Figure out how wide you would like the lower part of the jacket to be in inches. You can use the stitch gauge to calculate how many sts that would be and then you can figure out how many sts you need to increase. Maybe it’ll be increasing every other st or every 3 sts but you can adjust the increases to the size you’d like.
Knit1 magazine has closed and so perhaps they haven’t maintained the errata page. You might be able to email Vogue Knitting and ask about the corrections for your pattern or if there is a designer listed you might try her or him.
