I am new to knitting and wondered if someone could explain what this means
K2*(K2tog,K3)* repeat across row! ending with K1[K2,K1].20 sts
I’m not sure exactly what to repeat etc.
thanks for any help you can give me!:

I know you repeat the stitches in between the asterisks - K2tog,K3 - but not sure about the last part. I’m guessing you work that pattern over the last 20 stitches. What are you knitting?
I am trying to knit sock monkey baby booties.
The next row is purl
And then 3 rd row says
K2,*(K2tog,K3)*repeat across row! ending with K1[K1,K4].16 st.
Am very confused on how to read this, - thanks
miccisue is right about repeating the sts between the asterisks although the double use of parentheses and asterisks is unusual.
The “20sts” is telling you that you’ll have 20sts on the needle when you end the row.
Something’s not right about the stitch numbers however. The pattern doesn’t work out as written. Can you check that it’s copied correctly and can you give us a link to the pattern and a pattern name?
Thanks so much for the info. I have pics of the pattern that I believe I can attach - maybe just one page at a time
Here is the next part of the pattern. Thanks
Sorry - that was last page- I’ll try to do second again. This is where my question arises from.
Just keep the post with the part that’s giving you problems. You can delete the other posts. That way we won’t get into copyright problems.
It sounds like you’re making the smallest size. If you have 25 sts on the needle now, you could decrease by repeating (k3, k2tog) across the row 5 times. That’ll take you to 20sts.
Thanks again. I will delete other posts
