Is it possible to frog a few rows in a cable knit project such as a scarf? If so, what is the technique? I am so close to finishing and managed to mess it up pretty bad. I was on the cable row and somehow added and twisted stitches… Feeling overwhelmed. TIA
Please help
It’s definitely fixable so don’t panic.
Is it full rows you have made twisted stitches on or are they individual stitches in some columns? It makes a difference because full rows will need to be tinked or frogged down to below the problem (life line can be used if frogging, personally I would tink as there is more control) whereas if it’s individual columns or stitches you can drop down the single column and rework the ladder back up. It’s also possible to fix cables in this way.

I don’t have time right now to look out videos but I could later or someone else will.
Of course! As @Creations said, you can tink back stitch by stitch until you get back to where everything is correct.

If it’s very far back, you can place an afterthought lifeline below your mistake, rip back to the lifeline and then pick up the stitches and continue knitting.

Choose a row in the pattern that does NOT have the cable stitches, if there is one. If there isn’t, this double-lifeline technique might help:

Hopefully, one of these techniques will help!
It is just individual stitches. I am so scared but now I know possible fixes I feel more confident I identify the right ones and can move on, thank you thank you 🫶
If its I dividual stitches you can ladder down that single column rather than ripping back full rows.
Ther are a lot of videos for this and it depends what your specific problem is to choose a suitable video, the technique is basically the same but it may be easier to watch with a single stitch or a span of stitches
This one has a single column for a mistake purl and mistake twisted stitch, the technique is the same
If you have a reverse stockinette fabric (perhaps either side of your cable) you might feel more comfortable to turn the work around and fix from the other side, the stockinette side.
If you have garter stitch it can be a bit trickier to see how to work back up the ladder but there are videos for this too.
If you need to fix the cable there are videos for this too.
If you can’t find a video that is right for your need let’s us know so we can help.
