Please help with pattern instructions

I’m not new to knitting, but new to reading patterns. Can someone tell me what the (2,3,2,3,2,3) means in this pattern. Is it K2 then knit 2, purl 3 but it doesn’t say to purl. Is this in between patterns of cables?

Thank you

Change to larger needles and proceed in pat as follows:
1st row: (RS). K2 (2-3-2-3-2-3). [Work 1st row of panel pat. K2 (2-3-2- 3-2-3)] 6 (8-8-10-10-12-12) times. 2nd and alt rows: [K2 (2-3-2-3-2-3). Work 2nd row of panel pat] 6 (8-8-10- 10-12-12) times. K2 (2-3-2-3-2-3). Panel pat is now in position.
Cont in pat until work from beg measures 83⁄4 (9-91⁄2-163⁄4-17-173⁄4- 173⁄4) ins [22 (23-24-42.5-43-45-45) cm], ending with RS facing for next row.

Hello
These numbers in the (brackets) are for different sizes of the project.
Decide which size you want to make and then go through your pattern and circle, underline or highlight the correct number for your size.
In this case, for example the 1st row begins with knit 2 for the first size, also knit 2 for the second size, but it is knit 3 for the third size. Larger sizes do not necessarily mean a higher number, the fourth size is also a knit 2.
Once you ignore all the numbers that do not relate to your size the pattern becomes simpler to understand.

A [square bracket] in this pattern states a list of directions which are also in sizes, mark your size. All the instruction inside the square bracket needs to be repeated the number of times stated outside the bracket.

Example for the smallest size
[Work 1st row of panel pattern. Knit 2] do all that 6 times.

Example for the second size
[Work 1st row of panel pattern. Knit 2] do all that 8 times

I hope this helps.
Reading patterns gets easier but takes a bit of getting used to. Just ask if you’re not sure.

Thank you very much. I didn’t know that the section (2,3,2,3,2,3) also pertained to the sizes.
