I’m getting excited, DH and I spent some time this evening starting to plan this summers trip to North America :woohoo: Most exciting part is visiting our younger son :woot: who now lives in Seattle with his wonderful american wife.
We will also go to British Columbia and visit my canadian cousin. We just have to decide places to see in and around those areas, any suggestions out there?
We will definitely do some kayaking and canoeing but we also like craft stores, (yarn stores for me of course!) antique markets, gentle hiking and wildlife watching.
I am just so excited I can hardly sit still, I love 
the US and Canada.
Wonderful. I live in the Seattle area but I have no idea what to suggest. I don’t do crowds and so avoid so many things. Enjoy!
I also am not too keen on cities (though Seattle is a good one as they go) or overly crowded places. You would never guess that I grew up in London 
I now live in a village in southern England, a much nicer place than London, but to see my son after a year I’d go anywhere!!
Oh, yeah. If my kids were in a city and I could visit them, I would! I’m glad you get to see them.
I was just GOOGLING knitting cruises and on one that went to ALASKA, through Craft Cruises talks about knitting shops in Seattle but wasn’t too specific. It might be worth reading through though…
I’ve never been to Seattle, but I LOVE Vancouver ! We’ve been there twice and I can’t wait to go back. By far a must see is the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Cliff Walk in Capilano Park/gardens. We went skiing at Whistler Glacier and I imagine you could ride the gondola’s to the peak. The waterfront and harbor downtown is gorgeous. There is also Granville Island - there was a culinary school we ate breakfast at that was amazing. We had to have reservations and paid ahead of time for our meal but for the life of me I cannot remember the name.
One thing we’ve never done is take the ferry out to Victoria Island. It’s on my list for next time.
Yes, I have been to Vancouver, I agree it’s great. :woot: Have done the suspension bridge, bit scarey when packed with kids jumping up and down though. Did a very quick trip to Granville Island, lovely craft stuff for sale there. Haven’t been to Whistler though, worth thinking about that one, thanks.
I haven’t taken the ferry to Vancouver Island but have flown in a tiny plane to Port Hardy way north on the Island (on way to a kayaking holiday) really quaint, old fashioned place, I recommend it.
