Pinwheel baby blanket vent

One of my good friends is due to have her baby in January so I’m on a knitting rampage… but starting this pinwheel baby blanket is kicking my ass! The 5 stitch working in the round just feels so fiddly! I’ve started it at least 4 times now, and still haven’t done it successfully! :wall:

Thank you for letting me vent! I just had to get that out of my system. :teehee:

Hope you can make it work! That is a beautiful blanket. What a thoughtful gift!!

The first few rows on such a small diameter is a pain. Hang in there–it’ll get better and your friend will do :thud: when she sees it.

If you are having a lot of trouble, Oat Couture has a pinwheel blanket that is worked in sections using short rows. Here is a link…

I just finished one for my second baby due in 6 weeks! My LYS had the pattern.

You wouldn’t HAVE to do five, would you? Couldn’t you start with six stitches and just have an extra “swirl” in it?

Elann has a pinwheel sweater that’s pretty much the same only with sleeves. It starts out with 8 stitches, so you could do 6 or 8, then join. Or you could knit the 5 stitches flat and join after the first row after you’ve got 10 stitches to put on the dpns. It leaves a very small hole which can easily be sewn up with the tail.
