…or on? I want to make a baby hat that has a picot edge. I saw a pattern that you used a provisional cast on and then worked the edge in picot, but it was WAY confusing with DPNs and such. Is there an easy way to do it?
Picot cast off?
Well, you can use this idea with the hem and do the variation with yo k2tog across. Easy! I used this method for provisional cast on.
That is the same provisional CO I use, too. I guess I worded it wrong…I want to know how to make that cute picot cast off. I’m assuming I’ll have to use a PCO and then do the picot is why I said it like that. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the help anyway.
Here’s a picot bind off:
Picot Bind Off
BO 2 stitches, slip last stitch from right needle back to the left needle, cast on 2 stitches, BO 4 around. Cut yarn and pull through last loop.
I remembered it from a recent Knitty Gritty show with legwarmers. Here’s a link to the show’s information:

Thanks Nanonette!
You’re welcome, Jan!
