Pattern reading problem

:knitting:I am making a sleeveless knitted turtleneck and wondered about the reading of this pattern.Neck shaping Dec Row (RS): Sl1k,k1,p1,k9,ssk,k1,place next 24 sts onto stitch holder. Attach a seperate strand of yarn to other side(the other side of the same piece??)and work rem sts as follows: K1,k2tog,k9,p1,k2. Working shoulders seperately (on the same piece?) and at the same time, rep Dec Row every other row 4 times more.
HELP!!

Hi!

Exactly which part of this are you having difficulty with? Is it the attach yarn part? All that means is this. So you’ve knitted the first however many stitches. Drop the yarn you are working with. Now put however many stitches as directed onto waste yarn. Now get a new ball of yarn and start working the next stitches with that ball of yarn. So you will have two balls of yarn attached, one on the left side and one on the right. When it tells you to work at the same time, it means you work one row on the left with the left ball of yarn, drop it, then work one row on the right with the right ball of yarn, and continue like that.

You can also finish up the first shoulder, then work on the other one, but doing both at the same time makes them come out even.
