Pattern question

I am attempting a hat and scarf for my daughter and have a question of this line in the pattern:( Rnd 1 (K2tog, k 1, p 3, k 3, p 3) 4 times – 44 sts.
Rnds 2, 4, 6 and 8 Knit the knit stitches and purl the purl stitches as they face you.) Does that mean the second row begins pearl two together? Thank you as always for your help, Carolyn

No but you would purl the first two stitches. looks like you are only stitching 2 together in the odd rows, unless they give you directions for rows 3, 5,7, etc.

You’re talking in ‘rnds’ so I assume you’re knitting in the round?? When you’re in the round, every row is a right side row, you never have the wrong side facing you. So the first round started with K2tog, K1, P3, etc., so the second round when it tells you knit the knits and purl the purls, the K2tog on the first round would be just a K1 on the second round (because it doesn’t tell you to do any decreases on the second round), and so on, everything you knitted in the first round will also be knitted on the second round, and likewise with the purl stitches.

So rnd 2 would be K2, P3, K3, P3…that would be your repeat for rnd 2.
