I am attempting a baby blanket and am pretty new. Following this pattern…
what do they mean, knit to end?? thanks
BLANKET
Cast on 5 stitches. Knit 1 row.
Next row Knit 3, yo, k 2.
Next row Knit 3, yo, k 3.]
Next row Knit 3, yo, knit to end.
Repeat last row until there are 126 stitches on needle.
Next Decrease Row Knit 2, k2tog, yo, k2tog, k to end.
Repeat last row until there are 7 stitches on needle.
Next Decrease Row Knit 2, k2tog, k2tog, k to end.
Bind off remaining 5 stitches.
It just means that you would continue on doing whatever the instruction said to the end (of the row). So knit to end (or k to end) simply means that the remaining stitches on your needle, all the way to the end (the last stitch) will be knit. Then you will turn your work and move on to the next row. Hope that helps.
(Whoops - I just saw that someone else already responded!)
clearly I am not smart, I cast on 5, then knit 2 rows in the manner it says. so now I have about 7 stitches on the needle. That is where I am confused. I have just a few stitches. how do i keep increasing? This is my first pattern!
The YOs are increases and you’re supposed to have them; this starts at one corner, increase at the beginning of each row until 126 sts on the needle, then you do decreases for the other half.
I’ve put in bold, after each line in your pattern below, the number of stitches you will have after each row when you get ready to turn for the next row. Hope this helps a little!
