Pattern problem

Hi can any one help me with a patterowan “candy” sometimesyou read into something thats now there

…continue straight. Until armhole measures 22cm
Next row. I have 70 stitches on the needle. Knit. 26 stitches and turn, leaving remainder on a holder

THESE next rows are the ones that are bugging me. I dont seem to have the right number of stitches when I get to 17 stitches bit!!

Dec 1 St at neck edge of next 4 rows
then on following 5 alt rows 17 stitches.

Work 5 rows ending with WS row

Shape shoulder

Cast off 6 sts at beg of next and following alt to work 1 row. Cast off rem 5 sts

With right side facing…etc

Really sorry to ask you you must think I am a pain it will be plain to someone else prob but not me !!!

You start with 26sts and decrease at the neck edge on rows 1,2,3,4 and then rows 6,8,10,12,14. That’s 9sts decreased and 17 remaining.
At the shoulders cast off 6sts, work a row, cast off 6sts, work a row, cast off 5sts. That’ll account for the 17sts and leave all sts bound off
