Shape Raglan

Cast off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows.

32 [34:36:38] sts.

1st Row. K1, s1, k1, psso, knit to last

3 sts, k2tog, k1. 30 [32:34:36] sts.

2nd Row. Purl.

3rd Row. Knit.

4th Row. Purl.

From 1st to 4th row sets raglan

shapings.

Could someone tell me if I work 2 more rows then start on row1 or do I cast off 3 and work row1 in the same row ? TIA x

What is the name of your pattern and designer, please?

You should have 6 more than the number given for your size here:
<Cast off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows.
32 [34:36:38] sts.>
Therefore, you should have 38 [40:42:44] before starting the shaping.

Cast off 3 stitches, work across the RS row, turn.
Cast off 3 stitches, work across the WS row, turn.

Then begin the 4 row raglan shaping.

This was my thinking but unsure, it’s a hayfield pattern 5572.

Thanks for your reply it now makes complete sense

Welcome! I found this site more than 10 years ago when I first started knitting seriously. And I seriously needed help! The folks here are not only VERY knowledgeable, they are extremely kind and patient. So, anytime I have a knotty problem (pun intended), I ask my question(s) here and wait for the very quick response before attempting to proceed with said problem. They have ALWAYS helped!

Did you finish this pretty cardigan? We’d love to see a pic if you like sharing your projects.
