Attempting to do this pattern. I am a beginner/intermediate knitter, semi self taught. I am stuck on the part where it wants me to cast on 16 st, then pick up rest of stitches around bottom and join. Not sure on what to do after casting on the 16 st.
Pattern help?

Did you finish hood and sow edges? When you do that cast 16 st than pick up stitches around bottom edge of hood, join and start knitting in a round. Follow pattern to finish.

Finished the hood. I sewed the bind off edge together like pattern said. Just confused on how to pick up the stitches as never done before.
Im not best one to find video to help you with problem, it is so many videos on YouTube that explain pick up stitches but i think this one is for your problem.
In morning probably more experienced knitters will help you better.

I’ll just add that you will have the newly cast in stitches on the right needle with the working yarn cojing from the last stitch cast on, then begin picking up at the front left of the hood. That is the part of the hood which is on the leftt as you’d wear it.
The 16 cast on stitches form the top edge of the neck/cowl under the chin, therefore the right hand side of the hood (last stitch you pick up) will join to the first of the cast on stitches.
