Pattern help

Hi,

I am working on this pattern. I don’t understand what the issue is. The 1st row instructions is not adding up to 154 (large). stitches which is the size I have chosen. I have had to take it apart several times already.

Change to larger needles and proceed in pat as follows:
1st row: (RS). (P1. Work 1st row Panel Pat A) 0 (1-0-1-0-1) time. P4 (2-2-2-4-2). Tw2R. P2. (Work 1st row Panel Pat A. P2. Tw2R. P2) 2 (2-3-3-4-4) times. Work 1st row
Panel Pat B. P2. Tw2R. P1. Work 1st row Panel Pat C. P1. Tw2R. P2. Work 1st row Panel Pat B. (P2. Tw2R. P2. Work 1st row Panel Pat A) 2 (2-3-3- 4-4) times. P2. Tw2R. P4 (2-2-2-4-2). (Work 1st row Panel Pat A. P1) 0 (1- 0-1-0-1) time.

When I follow this pattern for 1row I end up not being able to finish with the pattern. Is there an error in the pattern? I got it from Yarnspirations honeycomb Aran pattern.
Panel A 6 sts, panel B 13 sts, panel C 34 sts

Thanks

The first row for the 3rd size becomes:
1st row: (RS). P2. Tw2R. P2. (Work 1st row Panel Pat A. P2. Tw2R. P2) 3 times.
Work 1st row Panel Pat B. P2. Tw2R. P1.
Work 1st row Panel Pat C. P1. Tw2R. P2.
Work 1st row Panel Pat B. (P2. Tw2R. P2. Work 1st row Panel Pat A) 3 times. P2. Tw2R. P2.

That adds up to 154sts. Are you working the beginning and end sts which are actually skipped in the pattern for your size? If there is a 0 or a - or x for your size, skip that direction.

This is a link to a knit-a-long which may be helpful now or in future.

The pattern was revised in April 2022 so if you have an older version, you might download the latest just in case there were errors.

I think I figured out what I did wrong. I thought the P4 meant P4 2 times for my size.
Thank you l will try again.

Ah, that might just do it. Good for you for figuring it out. These patterns with multiple sizes aren’t always easy to work through. Come back if there’s still a problem and of course, we’d love to see a photo when you finish. I have this pattern in my favorites.
