Pattern for fingerless gloves?

I need a pattern for fingerless gloves. There a lot of patterns out there but I can’t seem to find one that has individual holes for the fingers, aside from the thumb.
Preferably a pattern that has only straight needles and fairly simple. Thank you! :slight_smile:

This is the only one I could find for free that has fingers and is two needles. Most of them are circular.

It’s not a free pattern, but I think it’s well worth the investment. I highly recommend Pop Up Paws from O’K-D Farms and Fibreworks. Contact info on the pattern is 717 428 2457, email Old-Trail-Yarns@worldnet.att.net, but I’ve had the pattern awhile, so this may be out of date. The designer was Mary O’Keefe-Dockman, and there’s a Skacel Collection sticker on the pattern, too.

This is a pattern for fingerless gloves with an optional attached mitten “cap” that can be flipped off or over your fingers. What makes this pattern exceptionally good is 1) the palms are shaped with short rows for perfect fit 2) the directions for left and right hands are reversed for you (this saves a LOT of thinking and double-checking!) 3) the gloves include finger holes 4) they can be made as strictly fingerless gloves or with the mitten cap 5) the directions are very clear and detailed, with lots of choices and suggestions for modifications.

I knit mine on DPNs, but the directions say you can knit flat on straight needles or use circular.

it is not so hard to knit in the round (on double pointed needles, for example). You should consider doing that.
If you knit flat, there will be seams. And seams on the little finger holes? That would be horror to me. That probably is the reason why there are not more patterns, doing it like this.

OK, I’m looking for the “opposite”. I’d like a pattern for fingerless gloves that just have the thumb hole; but I’d like a simple one that’s knit in the round on one circular needle. I’ve found a few on DPNs that I could fall back on, but circs seem so much easier to a slow knitter like me. I don’t want cables or anything, in fact a ribbing pattern would be best because I want to make them longer than usual (I know someone who complains of their arms being cold, so the longer the better) and the ribbing would give more stretch.

So many are on single needles and flat where you have to seam them the length of the glove, ugh…

try the “endpaper mitts” by Eunny Jang (and just leave away the color pattern and instead add about 4 or 5 stitches per side to make it entirely in ribbing)

Or the “Treads” one, that I linked above. With or without pattern… that is pretty optional.
