Pattern for a chef's hat?

Ok so my friend is about to graduate from culinary school (she’s studing to be a gormet cake maker) and I wanted to knit her graduation present. Well I got the grand idea to try and knit her a chef’s hat. She has to wear one for school and I just bought the most divine white yarn but the only problem now is I can’t find a pattern!

So, anyone know where I could find a nice chef-like-hat pattern?

That’s a hard ask in a way because chef’s hats are meant to be easily washable and a knitting pattern is a problem to find. But, a chef’s hat is called a 'toque" technically so I looked that up and found the following design but if you do a search on “knitting patterns for toque” or “knitting patterns for a chef’s toque” you may find something more suitable. This is too complex perhaps BUT you could amend the pattern and so on:

I would love to make one for the chef in my family, so I hope some one finds a pattern! It’s hard to imagine the typical chef shape standing up properly in a knit, maybe with cables?

:stuck_out_tongue:

That’s why I posted the pattern I did because it was the only one I could see that really did stand up and yes, it has cables

If you do a google search you will find patterns for cloth chef’s hats. I saw a couple the other day.

just came across this pattern

I’m going to give it a good try for my chef. I’ll let you know how it goes.:knitting:
