I have completed shape back neck and shape shoulder BUT it doesn’t look right . I have 73 stitches before starting Shape Back neck .
Knitted until there are 25 stitches on right needle , turned and remaining stitches (48) on stitch holder .
Cast off 4 purled remaining (21)
Knitted next roll
Cast off 4 continued into purl(17 stitches remaining + 48 on holder ).
By the time I’m done with Shape shoulder , left with no stitches . Only left with 48 on holder .
If I was to move to the other side and complete Shape back neck and Shape shoulder , I would use 25 stitches from 48 stitches on holder . Which leaves 23 stitches .
Just seems like I’m short 25 stitches short , does this make sense?
You should end with all the sts bound off for the first shoulder. Now you’re to cast off the center 23 sts and work on the remaining 25sts. You won’t be short any sts (25+23+25) out of the 73 sts you started with.
Attach a new strand of yarn to the held sts (25+23sts). Bind off the first 23sts then pattern the remaining sts to the end of the row. There’ll be 25sts for the second shoulder and no sts left on the holder. The middle 23sts have already been bound off.
