Have any of you used this yarn. I love the feel of it and my Hobby Lobby has it in such rich colors. It is a little pricey at $5.00 for 50 grams though. But I might consider saving my dollars and making something special just for me.
Five dollars for 50 grams. FIVE dollars for FIFTY grams.
Do you have any idea how much I pay for premium yarns these days, young lady, especially with the exchange rate of dollars to UK pounds sterling!?! One of the hanks of yarn I’ve been yearning for is over 30 pounds, and I haven’t even dared to look up what that will cost me in US dollars! Five dollars for 50 grams of lovely yarn is a steal…! You buy yourself some lovely yarn and feel happy you’re not paying up to $15-$30 for 50 or 100 grams!!!
Always happy to enable, at least where yarn is concerned.
Well, I would if I could and would love doing it, but we can’t afford it. That’s why I stated I might save my money back. Thanks though for trying to help me splurge.
I see this yarn at the Michaels where I work. I wanted to try it out myself but it is a teeny amount of yarn for the money IMO. However, it does seem really nice and soft so…I don’t know. I’d say it can’t hurt to buy one ball of it to try out. Not enough to make anything big, but maybe you could knit a headband with it? :teehee:
And don’t buy it till the week you have a 40% off coupon…then you just have to go every day that week and you should be able to get at least 5 at $3.00 each…and that’s not bad :teehee:
BTW: my HL lets me use 2 coupons and get 2 items each trip as long as I do it in 2 transactions
I’ve got a gift card and plan on getting some with the coupons. I think I can get a nice shawl out of 3 balls, 4 for sure. Just can’t decide if I want the dark blue or the pale blue…
I have used it. I knitted a drop stitch scarf out of two balls of it. It came out really pretty and soft, esp. after I washed it. It also hung very nicely.
I picked up about 5-6 balls w/40% & 50% coupons. I’d intended a shawl of some sort, but ended up with 2 scarfs. First I used 3 pattern repeats of the lace pattern in the Lady Feb. Sweater http://www.flintknits.com/blog/?p=151 - it used a little more then 2.5 balls. The 2nd scarf I’m working on right now, using 2 pattern repeats of Vineyard lace from Lace Knitting To Go. Both scarfs are about 6" wide. I find the yarn is easy to work with and very soft. I’m definiitely willing to use it again.
I am using it right now to make the Agave Scarf

It is so soft and very nice to work with!
For what it’s worth, I just checked the label - it’s 65 grs and 102 yards.
I’m looking for yarn to make a faroese shawl with and the pattern calls for just under 15 ounces. I would need to buy about nine balls of it. I don’t live in the townwherethe store is located or I would go everyday and use the 40% coupon. I
only get to go every 4-6 weeks.
That is a problem. If I take a round about way home, I can pretty easily hit a Joann’s, 2 AC Moores and 2 Michaels on my way home.
Well, don’t forget Hobby Lobby sells it too, and they also have store coupons. Don’t know if you have one in your town, but it is another option.
