These are dyelotted technically, but do you think it really makes a difference?

I’m wanting to start a project in Black and I currently have 1 skein of Patons, but the project will take 2-3. I was going to go ahead and start it and just order a couple more skeins or pick up a couple more skeins in a few days, but I’m sure they won’t be the same dyelot. Do you think it will really make a difference.

I also have a project for Lion Brand in Orange that I have 2 skeins of 1 dyelot and 1 of another, that I will run into this on.

What do you think?

I have used different dye lots in black in Patons and had no trouble.The orange will look different.

With the black you will be ok. With the orange, I wouldn’t do it UNLESS it is a felting project. I have found the a slight color difference when you felt isn’t noticeable.

IMO it’s waaaaaayyyy too much work to make something only to find out that the yarn from another dyelot looks different. I’d get all that I need first for the project. :shrug:
