I have a pair of straight needles with a small nick in the point. They are Susan Bates Quicksilver, and I love the way they handle. The nick catches on the yarn sometimes, and I was wondering if there was a way to patch it. The coating is completely down to the aluminum. Would a small dab of fingernail polish help it any? But then I would have to be careful not to add too much, cause then I would have to sand it down. It looks sort of like someone took the blade of a knife to it. It’s that kind of blemish. Anyone have any ideas?
I don’t have any idea how to fix them, but I had needles that wore down to the aluminum like that and found that they left gray residue on my yarn. I think your safest bet is to replace them.
