Parenthesis in a pattern

Hi!
Could anyone kindly let me know how to read the parenthesis symbol in the following pattern?:
Round 1: K1, p2(k2,p2) to last st, k1

Should I repeat “p2(k2,p2)” multiple times or just (k2,p2) multiple times to last st?
Thank you very much!
Stella

Hello
Repeat just the part that is within the parenthesis. The pattern is basically the same across the round a 2 x 2 rib, but the first and last stitches of the round are to be a single knit, hence the few stitches beginning and end of row that are written outside the parenthesis. The single knits at beg and end of round will sit side by side to keep continuity of the 2 x 2 rib pattern.

Hope this helps.
