Palindrome Scarf

I love, love, love this scarf! It’s the first time I’ve ever knit with Malabrigo Worsted, and it was simply divine!

This is Silver's pattern, which you can find [here]( The pattern is SUPER-EASY! It took me one week to complete. I started it last Sunday while we were on a college recruiting visit for my daughter. We sat to watch the women's soccer team at [Florida Gulf Coast University](, and I started what I hoped would be a project that would require little thinking (compared to another project I'm in the middle of). It did not disappoint!

It would be the perfect pattern to start on if you want to learn how to do cables.

The scarf wound up being almost 63” long and 4” wide. I used size 9 needles and completed 55 pattern repeats. I used 1.7 skeins of yarn and have approximately one ounce left, which I hope to use to make the 75 Yard Malabrigo Fingerless Mitts.

For the bind-off, I tried something new.

The Fall 2008 Interweave Knits has an article that includes instructions for how to knit an invisible bind-off for ribbing. I used these instructions, finally understanding them after trying several times, and wound up with a clean edge. Here is a link for a p1, k1 bind off, which will give you a general idea of the concept.

On to the pictures!

I bought the yarn at Knitwitz, a store in Jacksonville. It is Malabrigo Worsted, and the color is Water Green. It reminds me of my first prom dress.

Thanks for looking! :muah:

I think you rocked that scarf :yay:(is that a right thing to say in English?). Anyway, it’s gorgeous. Welcome to the Malabrigo anonymous club :teehee:, it’s so soft and squishy and you want to wear this beautiful scarf all day long…

That scarf came out just as all your projects do which is beautiful I love the color

Awww…you’re too sweet! You haven’t seen the icky stuff I’ve produced. Those stay hidden. :teehee:

Very pretty!
This pattern has been on my queue for a long while now, I think after Christmas, it’s time to make it!

:inlove: That is gorgeous! I love that yarn you have, too! I bought some Malabrigo, but haven’t used it yet.

That is one beautiful scarf. I tried this pattern with the wrong yarn. The pattern is easy and as you say it goes fast but the yarn was too thick and just did’nt show the pattern well. I will have to try it again with a better yarn. Thanks for the hint about the cast off.

Beautiful job! I also love, love, love that pattern! I’ve made 5 or 6 of them for gifts and I am addicted to it! Love that yarn as well. I can’t use 100% wool so I’ve used the Patons SWS and some other wool/soy blends to make it.

Looks beautiful. Love the colour.

:happydance: very pretty!

that is soooooooooooo pretty!

It is lovely and the colour is so nice .

The scarf is lovely and the colour of the yarn is so nice

Oooo, yummy scarf!

Love your scarf !!!I have made it myself, of course I used Malabrigo too:cheering:

Beautiful and one of my favorite colors.

I love the color! Its so soothing. Its kinda spa’ish, which I guess doesn’t really fit as a description of a scarf, but I think it looks awesome!!! :cheering:

Oh wow! That is simply gorgeous! Oh and I bet it feeeeeels so good around your neck!!!

Very nice! For some reason I didn’t take to this pattern when I tried it myself, and I’m starting to think it was my yarn choice… love yours!

this scarf is on my to do list as well. I love yours and the colour is amazing. May just have to search for some Malabrigo and cast on.

I made one of these last year (for a gift) with the Patons SWS and it turned out gorgeous! Made the matching hat too. I loved it but still have to make one for ME! AND I’m still a Malabrigo virgin - gotta get me some of that stuff! Love how yours came out - that color is scrumptious!
