Inspired by AngieLanigan, I made this bag http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/amandas-squatty-sidekick It is the brown and tan bag. Just used Paton’s Classic Merino yarn for this project.
Couple of firsts…first felted project and first time making an I-cord. I messed up a bit grafting the handle, but the felting hid that (as I had hoped!) :woohoo: No lining, but I’ll try that another time. I gave it to my mom for mother’s day (not expecting her to use it as a purse) and she did like it. Will probably use it as a lunch bag or to carry bottled water…something like that!
The other bag is a market bag. Very basic construction and easy peasy to make! I used the 2 circ needle method when dpns were called for (I really like this method, now that I have gotten the hang of it) and also made about 8" of the handle I-cord. I feel like it gets a little extra durability this way…and wanted to practice it again
For this I used Bernat Handcrafters Cotton Country Colors in Vintage twists. Here is the pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/grrlfriend-market-bag
SOMEDAY I’ll get this uploading of pictures down pat lol! Obviously, the last picture is the bottom of the market bag!
