I’m making this for my 2yold
Currently stuck on this portion of the pattern.

First: I’m unclear about what it means when it says:
Work 3 [1:1:1:1] rows ending after 2 [2:6:4:4]. If I’m working one row, how can it end after 2?

Second: I’m finding the decrease confusing as I’m unsure how it matches up with the last rows of colours.

Please help!

That is confusing.
The pattern is counting on working decreases on rows 1,5,9,13,17,21 and 25.
If you follow the stripe sequence as given, A, B and C at 8 rows each (24 rows) and one row of D (25 rows) then working one more row will give you 2 rows of D.
