I’ve only read the first one (a while ago now, so I’m not fresh on details), but while I might have been annoyed at some of the details, I felt the ending made up for it. Now I want to read more! 
[color=blue]Hang in there!! I LOVE this series. Diana Gabeldon is a wonderful writer. I’m just fnishing up “A Breath of Snow and Ashes.” I love this series on Audio. This last book is 48 CD’s and has taken me 2 month to listeb to. I love how all their lives are weaved together. Never a dull moment. Happy listening. I love this site, as much as I love to knit and listen to audio books.

Well… I haven’t read these books, but IMO life is too short to read a book you aren’t enjoying. Just like at the movies, not everyone likes the same thing or can get the same thing out of it. 
I have noticed a serious trend in movies, tv and books of very emotional, needy, selfish female characters who seem to be irresistable to the men in their lives. Most of these characters are morose, depressive types who have nothing but drama and are emotional black holes of destruction. And yet, every man they come across is smitten! Anyway, I haven’t read the books and am not commenting the characters in them. But this thread got me thinking about this…
