I uploaded a 100x100 image, but it’s so much smaller than some of yours–you can’t see my boys’ mugs very well! Ideas?
If you right click on it and go to properties you can see that it’s only 63x63. How did you resize it?
:o ! Photoshop! Maybe it’s because I changed the pixels, then dropped the resolution so I’d only be at 12 k. I’ll try it in the opposite order.
That shouldn’t make any difference in the physical size. Compressing just makes a smaller file. Mine is 100x100 and is 7. 5 kb or so in size. It’s also a jpeg.
Did you by any chance have two different versions and upload the wrong one? I’ve done that.
Try bumping the size back up then saving it as a gif instead of a jpeg in photoshop – smaller file size (in general).
K, now it’s super pixellated! What’s my deal?
If you resized it from smaller = bigger that’s why it’s pixellated-looking…you can’t get the quality back once you’ve gone to a smallersize/lower resolution. If you have it, go back to the large file and start from there.
Phew! I actually went back to the larger and started over, and still got a pixellated image, but somehow this third try looks better. Yeesh! Thanks, ladies.
It looks adorable! Cute kids!
If you over compress a photo you’ll get pixelated photos as well. What I do is crop a part that I want to use, then resize, then compress and save. There have been a few times when I had to make the image smaller because I couldn’t get the file size down, but it’s not often.
