he back up to 5lbs so he is gaining weight. i hope i can bring him home soon. i’ll see what they say later today.

Having been a preemie myself (2lbs 4 oz and 10 weeks early) and my best friend’s baby having been early (6 weeks and 4lbs) I can say with almost certainty if he is 5 lbs and has no breathing issues, they will more than likely schedule a car seat test (you will need to bring the seat to the hospital and they will hook him up for a while–anywhere from 30 min to 2 hours–to make sure he is not going to stop breathing or have any type of difficulty) and he will be discharged hopefully fairly quickly!
He is a gorgeous baby and very big for a prem! Congrats!

What a doll!!! I went to KY to see my nephew who was born 7/20/06. We went through the St. Louis area on the way back home.
Do you have electricity? We thankfully missed the storm Fri cause we went through Indy.

thank you everybody for your prayers and thoughts! i just got back from my “visit” and he is eating and gaining weight but still in an isolate. he passed his car seat test last week before he went to the NICU. and yes we have electricity. ours never went out. but my mother still doesn’t have any.

He’s adorable Carmell, I pray he is well and at home as soon as possible. One of my granddaughters was born premature(4lbs, 2oz, 19" long), she gave us a couple of scares(SID’s episodes) before we could get her home also. We had to bring her home on a monitor, but she was taken off of it in less than a month. Now she is 11, going on 21 :rollseyes: , and is “healthy as a horse”. I hope your precious boy is home being spoiled with love p.d.q.!
