OT: Google Base

General Knitting
1

Well after all the fancy high todo … Google base has been released.

Google Base is a posting service for anyone with a GMail account, kinda like a “New fangled” ebay…

They say they aren’t directly competing with ebay… but …
I think it’s more of a “Classifieds” type of thing… I also heard that Google will be coming up with thier own “Online Payment Gateway” (read paypal) eventually to plug into BASE as well.

And doing my first Base search, I searched for knitting in products and came up with this

http://base.google.com/base/items?oid=13161270322600927440

I dunno… but I just don’t htink I’d spend that much… Shrugs

WHAAAAAAAAAA??? THAT MUCH FOR YARN?? JUST. CAN. NOT.

3

well the price is fair…it is actually a little less per skein than they will charge me at my LYS…but i don’t have a need for 10 skeins of a yarn i am not totally in love with working with!

4

Good Lord

I didn’t see the “10 skein in one sealed bag” I thought it was for one 50g skien…

that makes MUCH more sense… ugh

5

ONe thing about that is it’s color 95…from the amount of LYS and onlineYS that are out of it, some people would probably pay more than that!

6

:roflhard: :roflhard: yeah! for 79.95 a skein it would have to be made from gold and knit itself for anyone to buy it!

7

Yeah I’m just an igit … (read idiot)

That’s okay… google base, I believe, once people start using it will TAKE off…

Oh my god, I saw No. 95 and my heart skipped a beat. THAT is my favorite favorite color in Noro, one of the first sweet yarns I bought when I started knitting again. I have a little skinny scarf made out of that that I wear ALL THE TIME. Thing is, you can get it for $8.50, sometimes less so it’s not the greatest bargain. It’s super yarn though. thanks anyhow norman…

that’s my favorite noro yarn…but NO yarn budget right now…:frowning:
