OT: Driving me NUTS

What is the name of the restaurant in NYC where they have the caricatures of different celebrities? It played a prominent role in “The Muppets Take Manhattan”

Could it be Sardi’s Restaurant in Times Square? I googled part of the description you gave and this is what came up-www.sardis.com.

So… I know this doesn’t help you, but i can’t help myself.

Did you ever hear the joke about the pirate with the steering wheel in his pants?

“AAARRRG!!! It’s driving me nuts!!!”

:roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard: :roflhard:

:roflhard: :roflhard: GOOD ONE!

The restaurant is Elaine’s. Run by Elaine May, of Nichols & May fame. :eyebrow:

Took me a second to get SandraEllen’s joke! :roflhard:

Elaine’s has caricatures of celebrities (so does Sardi’s) but it is not owned by Elaine May. The owner is, and has been for the last 40 years, the imposing Elaine Kaufman, who seats her friends at the “good” tables and the rest of the world next to the bathroom. The food is somewhat less than mediocre and the service is worse, but the people-watching is fine, especially if you are familiar with people in the literary and Broadway world – it’s not a place you’re likely to spot Beyonce and her entourage.

I haven’t seen the Muppet movie, but I suspect the restaurant is Sardi’s – it’s better known and better looking than Elaine’s.

thanks all!
