OT: Any winnie-the-pooh lovers out there?

Just FYI–today is Winnie the Pooh Day to celebrate the birthday of A.A. Milne. I sent a winne-the-pooh book to school w/ dd for her pre-k teacher to read to the class in celebration!

Pooh bear has always been one of my favorites. It’s one of the few cartoons I actually enjoy watching when I’m looking after little ones :teehee:

There’s a Winnie The Pooh day??? How totally cool.

Chubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff…

I am going to be using Pooh-isms all day now!

Just remember, Jagulars always yell, “Halloooo!” and when you look up, they drop on you.

:cheering: :cheering: :cheering: :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:

I love Pooh, I always got super excited when I could catch the cartoon, and I would sing along with the song (I know, I’m a dork) I used to collect Eeyore things, I always thought he was so cute even though he’s a bit gloomy.

Oooh, I love Poooooh!!! :inlove:

I love pooh too–I didn’t know about pooh day until last week…there is an organization here that serves several counties throughout the state in a “encourage reading” kind of program–you sign up when your child is a baby and they send you a free hard back book each month to read to your child and a little mini-lesson or activity suggestions to go with it. It’s a grant funded thing so it’s not based on income or whatnot–if you register, you get it for free…anyway–in the book my daughter received last week there was a little blurb included about winnie the pooh day and it said they selected today b/c it’s A.A. Milne’s birthday.
I’ve always loved pooh–mom says it’s what my nursery was decorated with–I have tons of pooh collectibles that people have given me over the years!

I love Pooh Bear!!!

I absolutely love the Pooh Bear! I have my very first Winnie Pooh from my first Christmas. I toted him with me everywhere.

Just a cute little story…

When I was growing up my Dad was a truck driver. He is a big burly dude. Anyway, when he used to go on long trips I gave him my Pooh bear to “keep him company” when he was on the road. He used to put him in his sleeper cab, so he had a comfy place to stay. And sometimes he would have a special place right between the windshield and dashboard. I am sure all the other trucker thought he was a little off his rocker when they saw a Pooh Bear “riding” in his cab. But it meant a lot to me when he was gone, knowing that my Dad was not alone while away from home. Now Pooh resides in my parent’s master bedroom sitting on the nightstand on my Dad’s side. He is a little roughed up and is missing his shirt. He needs a new shirt, maybe I should knit him one!

I would post a picture of him, but I am at work, if I remember I will try and locate my first christmas pictures of me and pooh!

:teehee: Jodi

I got to see what is thought to be the original Winnie-The-Pooh in a WTP museum in England when I was a little girl. Also, when my brother was little, he used to LOVE the WTP cartoons. He had all of them memorized. So when he fell asleep mid-sentence at the dinner table (“I wanna watch…”…snore), we all knew what he was about to say!

I love pooh! (look at my avatar :teehee: )

I love that trucker story…my dad was a trucker too and you’d be surprised how many of them carry around stuffed animals…I once gave my dad a big fluffy stuffed dog for valentines day one year and he used to take it with him. Firends said he’d have conversations on the CB w/ the dog…apparently it was quite a riot.

I love Winnie the Pooh! I am like a little kid when it comes to that chubby little cub :teehee:
