Opinions Needed - Irish Hiking Scarf

I’m using Caron Simply Soft in the Embroidery Print color. Honestly, is it too busy or kind of cool? :shrug: I will say, the constant color changes are pretty fun to knit with. I’m certainly not bored. But seriously, I want your honest opinions on if this color is working with this pattern or if I should frog it and start something else with it.

I think it depends on the person wearing it… does it fit their style… I think it looks really pretty and shows the cable off well… :cheering:

If you love it. It’s perfect.

That colorway is really neat tho… it almost looks like the scarf is crafted out of a mesh of play-dough.

I like the color alot. I think it just “pops” out at you. don’t frog it~

I like solid colors for cables but that’s just a preference thing…otherwise the yarn doesn’t bother me…

I’m with Cristy- solids for cablework. But that is fun yarn!

I like solids for cables too. With that yarn, I would do something like the “My so-called scarf” , a chevron pattern, or a linen stitch scarf that looks neat with the color changes.

I think the yarn is pretty, but too busy for the cables…

Thank you very much for your truthful opinions. I did a few more rows and decided to frog it. After awhile, you really couldn’t see the cables anymore. I like the crazy yarn but it looked too chaotic.

I think I’ll try to find a toddler sweater to make or something. :shrug:

In all honesty those colors do look like they belong on a kid’s something or other.

I think it looks awesome… Ive never knitted cables (Im way too new at this for that), but I dont think its too busy. Like others have said, I think it depends on who is wearing it, and maybe even more so, the color of their coat. If my coat was a bright color Id wear that scarf, but I tend to wear earth tones and deeper colors, so it wouldnt look right with mine… know what I mean?

I do see how the colors could make you miss the awesome stichieness though…
