One Red Button

I made my sister a booga bag for Christmas. I used WOA in black and gray…black bag with black straps and two gray stripes just at the top. I also modified that pattern and created a flap that goes from the top back of the bag, over the opening and is supposed to be BUTTONED on the front with one large red button.

I have seen large red buttons everywhere. Not large and cartoony, but large and Asian. Can I find one now? No, I cannot. I can’t even find a large red plastic button anywhere. (Insert weeping and gnashing of teeth).

I am so frustrated. Fortunately, I have a little bit of time to find one!

have you checked out discontinued brand name yarns.com? They have a good selection of buttons @2.49 ea.

Fimo and sculpey work for buttons, and I THINK they are fine for hand washing, although you might want to test first. this way you could make what you wanted for a button.
