One more--Right twist?

I think this is the last question for now (whew!)

The pattern says Right Twist: Knit next 2 sts together, but leave then on Left needle, then knit the 1st st again, then remove both sts from Left needle.

OK, I get most of it until the last part: remove both sts from Left needle. Remove how? I envision knitting the 2 sts together, pulling the loop to the right needle but not releasing the original 2 stitches from the left needle, then knitting through the right-most stitch on the left needle. What would I have on my right needle now? What do I slide off the left needle? (I knit European style, incidentally.)

Thanks for sorting this out for me.

Here’s my attempt at a play-by-play:
Knit the next two stitches together.
Instead of slipping them off the needle like you would in a regular K2tog, knit into the first of the two stitches again. This should leave two stitches on your right needle - the one from knitting the two stitches together, and the one from knitting into the first of the two stitches.
Release the two stitches you knit together from your left needle; you’re done with them.
Continue knitting as the pattern dictates.
(did that make sense?)
