OMG! The "Amy Project"!

It was worsted weight. It’s a very nice yarn, not expensive, lots of colors and machine washable, dryable. It’s an acrylic/wool blend.

sounds ideal.

gracias.

and two points for heatherfeather :roflhard:

WHOOHOOO TWO points??? wow!!! lol… :roflhard:

Oh shoot! I even went back looking for it and I couldn’t find it.

The typo. Aw Geez dotmom why did you erase it?

I’ll never forget when I was first using the computer and participating in a forum and someone said write this down: and I replied

my pen is poised

but I forgot the space between pen and is

Talk about embarssing!

I know I’m off topic but I couldnt resist. Was it like that?

Awww Ingrid…there is NO such thing as ruining YOUR rep!!! That was ONE time darlin. ehehehheeee

half the time I’m :?? :?? with :?? :?? on the questions!!! YOU get to be queen still…

did I suck up good enough??

Amy, I’ve been preoccupied with my Mom and our relocation back toward “home”, so my knitting has slowed a bit due to traveling back and forth…just came back to Mt. Airy today to check on everything and get some laundry taken care of and will go back to Sanford (and to my Mom’s house probably on Sunday or Monday…but I AM SO HAPPY THAT YOU  YOUR AFGHAN

THE AFGHAN IS BEAUTIFUL, BUT YOUR HAPPY AND SMILING FACE IS EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL!! Thank Sheldon for taking such lovely pictures for us!! I have missed all of you so much…it’s been a task to concentrate on my knitting projects (a baby blanket and the Irish Hiking Scarf), but my interest in knitting will never cease…ALL THANKS TO YOU AND THIS TERRIFIC SITE CREATED AND NURTURED BY YOU, SHELDON AND ALL OF THE GREAT KH MEMBERS!!

Your new house is gorgeous…I  those hardwoods!! I know you will have it decorated to perfection so share those photos with us soon!!

We have this house (in Mt. Airy) on the market and there has been quite a bit of interest in it so far (3 weeks). We’ve already had one verbal offer, but rejected it…we’ll probably rent something for at least a year in Sanford because I just don’t have the brain cells to plan the building of our house just yet!! We bought 12 acres at “home” a couple of years ago and gave our DS and DIL two acres…they built and moved in around Thanksgiving, so we will build beside of them…not too close though :roflhard:

I’ll be so thankful to get settled again, but it seems it will be awhile with my Mom’s situation going on at the same time…at least I’ll be close enough to see her every day and to help with her needs…I sure am glad that I finished my square before my life took this tailspin and was proud to be part of the “secret”…we are really good at keeping secrets, huh? :happydance:

Joyce

Joyce —

It’s good to see you back here, and I hope all is going as well as it can with your Mom. You must be so stressed out!! {{{hugs for you}}}

And to the rest of you —

I’m SO glad I could provide give you all with such a good laugh today.

(Fiber … see Ingy’s post right before yours … she reiterated my mistake in a rather understated way.)

THAT is gorgeous! What a work of art! I wasn’t part of it, but just wanted to say what a great gift of appreciation that is.

Thank you Amy, for teaching me how to knit with knowledge, confidence and a little speed.

Ladies and Gents the blanket is beautiful! So thoughtful.
You have inspired me to make one of my own.

As an aside I wanted Amy to know (like others) she is the reason I knit. Without KH.com I would have given up long ago.

 Thank you!

Another aspect of how AWESOME this project was…I, and I think a few others, were given yarn by other members in order to be able to participate in the project. I was unable to find Plymouth Encore locally, and to order it online and ship to Canada would have cost me an arm and a leg, so not to name any names (the person who has over 11000 posts here) sent me a ball of yarn.

WOW! I had no idea! Congratulations on everything, Amy! you deserve it!

I am SO sad I couldn’t be on the forum the day you received the afghan, but I’m SOOO happy that you have pictures documenting it! YAY!

I had such a great time participating in this project. I was a little late getting my square in, but KK was so accomodating to make my square into a pillow. Thanks again, KK!

You look so beautiful and happy in the pictures, Amy! Just the reaction I was hoping for. ENJOY!

Sorry I’m late …

:cheering: So glad you like it Amy!! :cheering:

Amy, I didn’t know anything about the project, or I would have knitted a square, but I’m so glad all these great folks did this for you. I want to tell you what you mean to me.

I learned to knit as a child, but I never learned to hold the yarn for tension so everything always came out uneven. I found your site and learned to knit Continental and what a difference it has made. I have Crohn’s Disease, and there are times when I don’t feel that great. Especially during these times I pick up my knitting that you have taught me to do and I start creating something I can be proud of. And you know what? Before long I start physically feeling better. I don’t think it is an exaggeration to say that you have contributed greatly to my health.

I thank you very much for your time and your love you have given all of us. You have allowed us to create and to tap into our inner resources. What a marvelous gift that is.

Many thanks,
Mel

this is the first time I have seen the afghan (as I am new to knitting and new to this site) but I just wanted to say that you all did a phenominal job, it came out breathtakingly beautiful!

Amy I am so happy for you!!! I wish I had joined in time to be a part of the making of that afghan!!! :frowning: It is so beautiful and I love the colors of it and the pillows.

KK :x:

WOW… that is gorgeous!!!

I’m just seeing this for the first time today! Amy, I’m so happy that you’ve gotten your quilt and that you are so happy with it. You surely deserve it, my friend! I wish that I would have had the time to participate!
