Now that I have finished the shawlette, kicking into high gear to finish my husband’s requested scarf before winter weather hits.
Wow, clicking right along! The scarf looks fabulous, lovely pattern and great heathered yarn. Which pattern and yarn are you using?
I’m sorry, it’s this!
Irish Hiking Scarf
And I’m using Woolease Tonal in Forest. It’s more a green with hints of blue than anything.
Gorgeous!
That is an incredible accomplishment, palabradot!! Wow. And gorgeous!!
No kidding!
Wow, you’ve caught the knitting bug, bad!
One thing to be aware of as you ponder your wonderful list: fair isle and socks don’t play very well together. (Fair isle being not very stretchy, and socks requiring stretch to get over the heel then hug the ankle.) lace, on the other hand…
Ditto what Mary Anne said!–Great yarn for the Irish Hiking scarf! That looks great!
When I see these looms, I can’t help but imagine how easy it would be for all of the stitches to come off all at once.
Glad you had a successful go at it! Nicely done!
And yes, I’m currently “helping” my daughter Erin (who’s 7, I think I wrongly said 8 in an earlier post–not until December!) knit a hat. I might have to help faster, because she could use another hat soon.
Sneak peek on the sweater progress. Pattern is Sky Isle Cartigan. Using Berkshire for the dk. Grey heather, and Silk Garden for the color work, which I’ve used before, but am realizing I must use more often. Love love love Silk Garden for fair isle!!!
That’s really pretty, Amy!!
Yay - it fits AND he loves it
Snag - younger brother now wants one…
You can cheat, though

Good point, @gramercy! Fair Isle and socks can play well together, with a self patterned yarn like Regia!
Well I found my cat lying on top of the sweater I am working on. Unfortunately this makes me allergic to it! So I had to wash it and wait a day for it to dry. It was hard to put it down, because I’m just getting into the fun part, the colorwork!
So yesterday I made a color patterned hat for my son Cian. At least it was supposed to be for him! It fit his (huge) head perfectly until he started tugging at it. Being alpaca and silk, it did not bounce back! However i happily realized it does fit me! … I was getting rather attached to it until my daughter Erin tried it on. I have to admit if it looks best on her! It also matches her winter coat beautifully! So, she gets it. (For now!
) I’ve named it “Whose Hat.”
She’s a cutie and looks beautiful in those colors! Love the hat!
Thanks, Jan!
I’m addicted to Silk Garden for Fair Isle. Sooo Yummy.
Doesn’t she look adorable in the happy hat! Lovely work and the way the colors in silk garden work is perfect.
Hello everyone! First post here, but I couldn’t resist this thread ![]()
I’m Eva, from Norway but living in Hungary now. Lived in buckinghamshire for a while earlier so I’ve travelled a bit ![]()
I have plenty of projects on the go at the moment but right now I’m working on a little Santa suit for my little one. I’ve got the hat and jacket done, now doing some trousers and then possibly some little crocheted booties. The cuteness will be stupefying!
Welcome to KH! That jacket and hat are adorable!! Can’t wait to see the rest of it! Your baby is darling, too!
Thank you! For the welcome and the compliments
If he lets me knit I should have the rest ready soon too
baby stuff is small and fast luckily!
