Hey there, all! I am super excited about knitting this simple vest at knitty.com.
I’m using a worsted Noro yarn…that I am beginning to realize that I may not have enough of. Oy!
And the worst part is that I can’t find the label for it anywhere, and I always keep labels! This yarn has been in my stash since I don’t know when…2002/3 maybe? I took a couple pics of the work so far and posted them on flikr…Here.
Does anybody have any idea what Noro yarn this may be? It’s a wool or a wool blend (which does not narrow down the Noro field much, I know). Worsted weight. The main color is brown, with rainbow multicolor bits throughout. I’ve been searching high and low online, but to no avail yet.
If I can’t find it, I’ll probably just add another Noro yarn, which would just make it more stripey…but it would be awesome to figure out what the yarn actually is.
Oh boy. Noro yarns all look kind of like that. Even if you could find it you won’t be able to get the same dye lot so the color will probably not match.
I have no idea which yarn that would be (and like Jan said, you won’t find the same dye lot anyways). If you know you’re not going to have enough, I would try maybe finding another yarn that compliments it like you had suggested (although depending how much you’ve done, you might have to frog back to incorporate the second yarn so that it looks like it was supposed to be that way).
I really just wanted to say that I love that pattern! I would totally make something like that for myself … except that steeking scares the crap out of me! :oo:
Thanks for all the answers and help guys! Yeah, ya’ll are right. I’m hunting on ebay right now for a extra skein or two of a color that will compliment the yarn I have now. Frogging will have to be involved. Ah, well. Knit happens
