Is this soft enough for a sweater? I bought some Kureyon for a Booga, and I’m thankful I didn’t plan to wear it since it feels terribly rough. I know the Iro has some silk in it and it’s so gorgeous, I’d love to use it for something!
IMHO, I think it’s a little rough for a sweater. I just made a purse out of it. I just asked my 16-year-old son to feel it, and he agreed it’s kind of rough.
On the other hand, I don’t wear a lot of sweaters (too hot for me), so I could be off.
I’ve found that yarns that are too rough to wear on the skin are usually fine with a shirt underneath, if that’s the style you like. Saves washing as often, too. :teehee:
I don’t know anything about Iro, but I’m currently doing a scarf with Kochoran, which is 50% wool, 30% silk and 20% angora (I think that’s right) and it’s nice a soft. I think it would make a lovely sweater. Just thought I’d mention it in case you were interested in looking at other noro yarns for your project.

Judith Durant’s “One Skein Wonders” (ISBN 1580176453) has something called the “Short and Sassy Shawl” on page 35 of her book I believe that uses one skein of yummy Noro Iro yarn. The shawl is EASY, and seems quick to knit, and uses one skein of yarn. I have yet to find a LYS that carries Noro yarns, so I can’t go in person to see them and “pet” them and see if they’re too itchy for me (probably, unfortunately), but I was frothing at the mouth to try out this pattern.
