Hi…Can anyone help me with this dilemma?? I’m making a sweater and it is all one piece except for the sleeves. I can’t continue until I understand the following instructions…Thank you to anyone who can explain it in kindergarten terms…LOL…

Right front
I’m stuck at the very beginning…so here goes:
Right Front
With WS facing, join yarn at underarm and work to correspond to left front, reversing shaping. Shape armholes at end of RS rows. Shape V neck at beg of RS rows. Shape shoulder at beg of WS rows.
Now I think that I can figure it out…BUT!!! I can’t start with the WS facing…I’m working on circular needles and I just binded off the left front…but the way the right front is on the needles, I have to begin on a RS…so I’m confused!!:??
I’m no expert, but I think you’re still supposed to start on a WS row on the right side, because it says you need to reverse shaping.
Huh?? LOL I’m afraid that I don’t quite understand that!!
“Reverse shaping” means you do the opposite of what you did on the other side.
From the Knit on the Net Website:
To reverse shaping, work the shaping at the opposite end from where you worked it for the first side. Usually you will begin to shape an armhole by binding off stitches. If you bound off the stitches at the beginning of a right side row for one front, you would bind off stitches at the beginning of a wrong side row for the other front. This keep the shaping on the correct edge.
If you are increasing or decreasing at the beginning of a row for one front, you would increase or decrease at the end of the row for the other front.
Perhaps if you can post a little more of the pattern, so we can see what you did right before this section? If it’s a free online pattern, could you post a link?
Here’s another website about reverse shaping:

If you want, you could just write the row(s) backwards. Do that for each row of the shaping.
Hi, Thank you so much for the time that you took to help me…I think that I understand the reverse part…the part that has me stumped is that I can’t start on the WS…that way the sweater is on the needles, only leaves me with the possibility of starting on the RS…that is my confusion…am I reading this wrong??
If your needles are oriented the wrong way, just slip the stitches to another needle, and add yarn at the other end.
Thank you very much,Shandeh! Because I’m not that experienced, I wasn’t sure if I should do something as simple and logical as that!!!
I’m sure that I will be seeking help again…lol
It’s also possible you can just knit back to the other end (or frog a row?) to get back to starting on the WS. Check your pattern and see if you might have done an extra row or need to do one more.
