Thanks again for all the nice words about my My 1st large project, a stitch learning Afghan.
Those words made me finish the coordinating area rug.
The rug was basically done the same as the blanket except I used less colors per strip. I.E. orange, yellow/orange, yellow, yellow/green, green.
The strips were CO in odd numbers, ranging from 9 to 29 stitches.
Size 11 needles
The 1st stitch in every row was slipped, and the last stitch was always knitted.
I attached the strips with mattress stitch and used the slip stich as my guide.
Most yarn was from KnitPicks, if I used a color from Wool of the Andes I used 4 strands, Sierra 3 strands, plus many of the colors also have novelty yarns.
Unlike the Afghan, the area rug was felted.
Most, of the stitches came from the Knitting Stitch Library

The different stitches were selected at random. Some that I used were as follows. . .
Linen, Parallelograms II, Basketweave, Twin Rib (modified) Slip Stitch Honeycomb, Seed, Moss, etc.
Thanks for looking,
Kathi
