Can anyone tell me:
(A.) How is this hat made? I know the brim is just single crochet but the technique that’s throwing me is the part that looks like horizontal braiding underneath the vertical braids. What IS that?!
(B.) Is it made in sections?
(C.) Does anyone have a pattern that’s similar or identical to this hat?

Ok IMHO, it’s all crochet. Not sure how… Front post maybe? But I am pretty sure it is crochet.
It looks like a back and front post stitch. Usually Fpdc and Bpdc
Front post double crochet and back post double crochet.
Very easy to do.
Key in those on the internet and it will tell you how to do it. Lots of videos
