This is my second DK hat. This one is like Kathleen Sperlings’ pattern, but I didn’t put earflaps and ended it in ribbing instead. I had to learn to do K1, P1 ribbing in the round in DK. Actually pretty easy.
This one is also Wool-Ease in blush pink heather and medium blue heather.
Debkcs, the ribbing was pretty easy once I got that far. Doing the first DK hat like this, having to start at the top, learn a new cast on, do increases on each side, and get a handle on the DK was really hard. But now that I know it isn’t that bad.
GinnyG, a class in this would be a great help. Go, and have a lot of fun.
Evona, the hat isn’t perfect. Where I change needles with the dpns the stitch looks a little big each time, and I can’t seem to correct it. And I made a couple of mistakes on the pattern. I was able to fix them so that they aren’t very noticable-- with duplicate stitch. I’m still learning, and that’s for sure. I worked the hat with the pink side out. On the top where the increases are it actually looks a little better on the blue side, and I am a bit amazed by that.
