I live in Framingham and just learned how to knit - successfully completed my first scarf a few weeks ago! I would love to meet up with other knitters in the area for coffee and knitting, advice, etc.
Thanks!
Ruth

I’m also a newbie. I actually frequent Framingham to go to Michael’s to get yarn/other supplies. I’m hoping ot get out there this weekend to get some more yarn to start a sweater/hat set for my friend’s new baby. The pattern looks pretty simple; it’ll be my first attempt at a sweater. Here’s hoping it goes well!
Feel from to send me a PM and maybe we could get together some time.:woot:

Not sure how that happened…
Any suggestions as to where the great yarn shops are (best selection), now that the fabric place went belly up?
There are tons of little shops…I have yet to go to many of them…I’m still using mostly Lion Brand and Paton’s yarns…afraid to pay big bucks for yarn when I’m still learning (not to mention having a pretty small budget and LOTS of projects I want to do). I have been to Playtime in Arlington which has a pretty large selection of Lion Brand, Red Heart, and other type stuff. My husband got me some really nice yarn from Puttin on the Knitz in Newtonville and he said they had alot of yarn and the couple that run it were really nice…haven’t made my way there yet. Hope this helps…
Since I’m just starting, I haven’t checked out many places yet for yarn, but I do think Michael’s has a good selection. I have passed a place on Rte. 20 in Sudbury called Knit Purl, but haven’t gone in there. I would be curious to hear about them if anyone has bought supplies there.
There is an A C Moor in Brockton I don’t if any of you ever come down this way. They are similar to Michaels and have a big selection.
Hope this helps. :knitting:
